Stage one: how visible you are

The visibility checks are mostly questions Google itself publishes guidance for. Is the site indexed and crawlable — verified in Search Console, not assumed? Does important content exist as text, or is it trapped inside images and PDFs? Is the Google Business Profile accurate and complete for local searches? Do the pages for each treatment, product or service answer the question they target in their first lines? Google’s documentation for its AI features says they draw on the core Search index, so a page that cannot appear in Search cannot appear in AI answers either.

Stage two: how fast you answer

Response checks begin with the journey your own enquiries take. Trace an enquiry during business hours and one outside them. Record the acknowledgement separately from the first meaningful human or approved automated response. Check who owns an unanswered call, whether a follow-up has a stopping rule and where the lead record lives. Then ask which of those steps is measured. The audit should leave you with a clear starting point, not a borrowed industry average presented as your own performance.

Stage three: how many come back

Keep checks look at repeat behaviour: what share of customers order or rebook a second time, whether reorder or renewal reminders exist, what happens to a customer who has been dormant for twice the typical cycle, and whether reviews and referrals are requested systematically or by accident. Repeat revenue leaks are quiet — nothing fails visibly, the customer simply does not return.

What to ask before paying for any audit

An audit is only worth what its output lets you decide. Before you pay — any provider’s, including Claviq’s — ask:

  • What exactly is delivered in writing: findings, a priority order, and a plan, or just a call and a slide deck?
  • What does it cost, and is that stated up front, not after?
  • How long does it take, who should attend, and what access is needed?
  • What happens next: what does the provider build, what does that cost, and what if the answer is to do nothing?
  • Which numbers will be agreed as the baseline, so change can be measured rather than asserted?
  • If the provider cannot answer these in plain terms before you pay, treat that as the first finding.
